Southern Skywatch December 2011 Edition Up

The December edition of Southern Skywatch is now up.

There is a Total Lunar Eclipse on the evening of the 10th, morning of the 11th.

Venus is prominent in the evening sky and for the first few days close to globular clusters in Sagittarius. Venus is close to the crescent Moon on the 27th.

Mars is in the morning sky and is close to the Moon on the 18th. Jupiter is prominent in the evening sky, and is now a good telescopic object.

Saturn is in the morning sky and is close to the Moon on the 20th.

Mercury returns to the morning sky and is close to the crescent Moon on the 26th and

The Gemind meteor shower is on the morning of the 15th.
