|Comet C/2012 S1 ISON captured on 4 November with iTelescope T4 at around 4:30 am local time in New Mexico, USA. The image is a stack of 10 x 60 second Luminance exposures. Images stacked then SUMMED using ImageJ, then contrast enhancement applied. click to embiggen.||Animation made from all 10 images. Contrast enhanced to see the comet tail better. Image orientation: north is to the top, east to the left.|
Finally got to get some more shots of C/2012 S1 ISON (and process a small part of my backlog). ISON is looking really impressive now in T4 (and not too shabby in T14).
I haven't been able to do anything sciencey, I suck at astrometrica, must be doing something wrong, but it can never identify the sar field and I just can't get an ISON magnitude out of it.
T4 is a 0.25-m f/3.4 astrograph, CCD SBIG ST-10XME 1.65 arc-secs/pixel
Below is comparisons of 11 October (the last decent image before the Moon got in the way) and last night. The comet is significantly brighter and a good tail developing.
