15 Years ago the first module of the International Space Station, Zarya, was launched.
Since then the ISS has graced our skies, providing a stepping stone for our dreams of space.
A cooperative effort of 5 space agencies, the celebration of this anniversary is decidedly low key.
There is a twitter hash tag wave you can join to celebrate #ISS15. Aside from that and a recording made by the current ISS crew I don't know of anything else going on.
I tried to wave at the ISS tonight after MiddleOne's concert, but the cloud and the school oval lights confused me so I was looking in the wrong spot and missed it.
The rest of this week has lots of bright ISS passes as seen from Australia, so head over to either Heavens Above or CalSky to get site specific predictions for your location and wave at the ISS for its birthday.
